   @LittleVinnyCock Your logic is absolutly flawed rofl. 1 federer had to beat far greater people than burdych looool. 2. washed up? he won the australian open this year & played the best tennis he has in years. 3. Nadal wont pass him in Grand slams end. you need to do your reasearch before you run your mouth. Agassi, Sampras, Stefin are all greater than anyone Nadal has had to go through – federer. you know nothing.

   @mydog8u2 You seem to be forgetting that Henman never won anything because Sampras was around! I think all would like to see Pete at his peak play Federer on grass, pinpoint serving, 2nd shot volleys sliding away from Federer right near the back line & we’ll see what return Federer can muster..quite a few would be great returns but many would be high just like everyone else’s with the same result, 3 shots, point won Sampras. At wimbledon, at any rate. I agree with your comments otherwise though

   listen mydog the serve and volley is still a solid part of the game. Nadal can hit massive winners from good deep shots so would u say players shoulndt hit decent shots because they can be beaten? If u hit a good serve u run up to the net to put it away, if u play tennis u would know.

   serve and volley cannot be succesful, the quality of passing shots from the baseline has increased dramatically, therefore you will just get caught out.

   also sticking to the baseline will not gurantee you success because it is almost imposible to break down players like nadal and federer from there. actually federer now probably cannot compete with nadal from the baseline simply because of his ability to return difficult balls into winners.

   the best is to mix both up, like current federer…

   WOW what happened to Sampras in this game damn he sucked. Well I guess Sampras was up in age and losing his game. That I think is the same that is going on with Federer he is getting older and now Nadal is taking his spot. “In with the new and out with the old.”

   i just can NEVER imagine anyone being better at tennis than ROGER FEDERER…

   ok..rafael nadal has won 8 grand slams..but please, he is NOT as skillfull or creative as federer…federer is a GENIUS with a tennis racquet. some of the shots he comes up with are just not human..ive never seen a player as naturally talented as federer. nadal..call me crazy, but alot of the points he wins are with his legs..he is a physical MONSTER. plus the spins he puts on the ball are incredible..

    nadal is not as NATURALLY TALENTED as federer…rafa has had to work very hard to become as good as he is today…a few years ago his volleying was not good and his serve was weak..now he’s improved almost all aspects of his game..

    but federer is just the BEST..he is a genius with a tennis racquet. he has every shot in the book..and isn’t so much a grinder like rafa is.

    @mydog8u2 It’s not because players are any better at passing these days. Tennis racquet technology is bringing more and more topspin to tennis shots, and top spin in the enemy of a volleyer.

    Federer’s success comes from his amazing foot work.. however in this video you can clearly see the disadvantage of Serve $ Volley.

    @drippingfang, Pete hit the very volley you described, a sliced backhander sliding away from Fed and Fed tracked it down and hit a brilliant passing shot down the line for a winner. A 19 yr. old Fed beat Pete by outplaying him from the net, the match contained 174 serve and volley points. Even at 19, Fed already had a better grass/all-court game than Pete, granted Pete was near retirement. If both players are in their prime I’d still favor Fed.
